County Conventions
It has been great to have the opportunity the past two weekends to attend three great conventions.
On April 7th, I attended the Utah County Convention and met a number of wonderful democrats that are concerned about public education, both K-12, as well as higher education. On April 14th, I attended both the Salt Lake County Convention and the Davis County Conventions. Salt Lake County had an overflow crowd at the Education Caucus meeting. Robert Comstock, Claudia Wright, and Valerie Cazier did a fabulous job running the meeting. It was great to see so many people committed to public education. At the Davis County Convention, I was pleasantly surprised by the turnout in the Education Caucus meeting. I was told to expect 7 or 8 people, and there were 20 in attendance. There was a lot of enthusiasm to help build a Davis County Education Caucus. I look forward to helping them bring that about. The conventions were all very vibrant functions, and I look forward to the opportunity to attend more county conventions next year. Keep up the hard work to keep public education issues on the forefront. Sincerely, Tamara McMurray Education Caucus Chair |
